I have been meaning to write this for ages and have lots of ideas and thoughts that I would like to share but… life.
This is possibly why I write now. I love the first few months of the New Year. I meet so many new people ready to start their language journey and who have decided that now is the time.
For some it is a New Year resolution and for others it is a specific need. Sometimes I meet people who say “I have been meaning to/wanting to for ages…” and often for them the planets have aligned to make now the time; the kids are now at school; the kids have left home, they have finished their last course of study…
People start their language journey for a lot of different reasons:
For some it is a life long dream, for others a time to tick something off the bucket list, a definitive work move, another skill to open career opportunities or finally being able to speak with family and/or friends in their native language or just because…
Whatever the reason, I love meeting all of these people, hearing their goals, their travel plans etc and then getting their postcard. New Year, new language. Welcome to your plan!
