Where is Greek spoken?Greek is a living language currently spoken by more than 11 million people in mainland Greece and by several million Greeks spread across the world.
Modern Greek grew out of the classical Greek of ancient times. There are two forms of the modern language, the pure form, called Katharevousa, which is mainly used in writing. For their spoken language, Greeks use an every day form of Greek called Demotic. The Greek language is full of history and culture. |
