My name is Bar. I’m from the north of Thailand and I’ve been in Adelaide since 2014. I love to share my knowledge of Thailand and the Thai language and culture to anyone who is interested and I really enjoy watching students' Thai language skills improve. I believe that “repetition is the mother of all learning”. I like to encourage students to expose themselves to the Thai language and culture as much as possible. I’m currently working as a Thai tutor in the Adelaide Centre. One can be quite particular, when pregnant, when it comes to food. When you are on top of a mountain, in the Italian Dolomites, surrounded by abundant snow but your physical state doesn’t allow you to ski, the next best thing is to eat and drink very well. My attempts at ordering in German / English was met with scowls and scoffs so I quickly started to basically parla italiano so my meal and beverage particularities could be well met.
Even started to write letters to loved ones at home… one can only eat so much zabaglione e panettone… The versions (edited eventually by my Milanese friend) you can find below; To my best friend about my dear cat: Cara Sonia, Questa e’ una foto del mio gatto. Si chiama Alberto. Come vedi, e’ nella sua scatola preferita. Lui ha tre anni . Ha il pelo grigio con un segno bianco sul petto. E’ molto viziato perche’ ha il pelo morbido ed e molto peloso. Lui ha gli occhi verdi e grandi. Ha anche i denti grandi e mangia tanto. I suoi baffi sono lunghi. Ciao per ora, Tanti Baci, Alvina. And yes, to my dear cat: Caro Alberto, Come stai? Spero tutto bene. Volevo dirti la tua coda e’ molta bellisima. I tuoi occhi sono profondi e colore di miele. Mi piacciono. Le tue orrechie sono carine. I tuoi baffi sono lunghi. Spero che i vostri giorni e le notti sono selvatici ma tranquilla. In attesa di accarezzati presto, Tanti Baci, Alvina. |
