Where is Mandarin Chinese spoken?China is the largest nation in Asia, the third largest in the world exceeded in area only by the Soviet Union and Canada, and has more people than any other country. China's population is over 1 billion, which means that more than one fifth of all the people on earth, live in China and speak Chinese! Chinese is also used as an international language of diplomatic exchange.
Chinese is a tonal language, in that each syllable has four or more tones and each tone may represent a different word.
