I have been learning Russian with VLLC for some time. I decided to study Russian when I was travelling to Ukraine for an athletics competition and wanted to be able to at least read cyrillic letters. I found I really enjoyed the challenge of learning Russian and have continued. I have visited Russia 3 times and intend to travel there again in 2017. I enjoy exploring the museums, historical sights and shops. I love the summer gardens in St Petersburg. I enjoy trying to engage local people with my knowledge of Russian language. This motivates to continue my language journey as I love the challenge of being able to speak Russian with some depth. I practice my Russian in a couple of ways. I have 2 athletes who speak Russian and I practice a little with them. Otherwise I simply study the texts and practice with reading out loud. I also continue with a conversation class once per fortnight. If you are considering studying a language other than your own native language I would recommend the VLLC method. The staff and tutors are very supportive and whilst learning Russian is very difficult I have been able to achieve some fluency.
