I complemented my law degree with learning French at VLLC

To complement my law degree I decided to enrol with VLLC to student French and have now completed the Certificate III in Applied Language. As a law graduate, my proficiency in French has significantly enhanced my legal career. The ability to communicate in French has opened doors to various opportunities, particularly in international law and human rights. Many legal documents, treaties, and case laws are available in French, and being fluent allows me to engage with these resources directly, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the material.

In my practice, I have worked on cases involving French-speaking clients, where my language skills facilitated clear communication and built trust. This has been particularly beneficial in negotiations and mediations, where nuances in language can impact outcomes. Additionally, my knowledge of French legal terminology has enabled me to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients from French-speaking jurisdictions, fostering stronger professional relationships.

I have also participated in international conferences and seminars where French was the primary language of discussion. My ability to contribute to these dialogues has not only expanded my professional network but also enriched my understanding of global legal perspectives. Overall, my French language skills have proven to be an invaluable asset in my legal career, enhancing both my professional capabilities and my ability to serve a diverse clientele. Thanks VLLC!
