Overview:
This course achieves a vocational proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening. It covers a wide range of topics to develop a student's language to an advanced ability and includes a large cultural component. This course also includes a focus on motivation to achieve success and is of particular value to students wishing to achieve the level of proficiency relevant for business.
Course Details:
Recommended course time is a further 75 - 100 hours after completion of a Certificate III, depending on individual progress. This course achieves a vocational proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening and achieves a ISLPR 3 - 3+ in these four skill areas. Certificate IV can have a credit value of up to 8 additional credits (Certificates II and III equate to up to 28 credits) towards Year 12 High School Certificate in most states (this varies between states).
The Certificate in Language Studies at the Vocational Language Learning CentresĀ® are eligible for YOUTH ALLOWANCE/AUSTUDY /ABSTUDY.

Successful completion of
Certificate III in Foreign Language Studies or course or prior learning equivalent to ISLPR level 2+ in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
